We are looking for an experienced Audio Programmer who will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of audio in an open world, 3D environment. This position will facilitate and enhance the work of our sound designers and be a key interface with the wider programming team.

You should be willing to work at the Playdead office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

What will I be doing?

  • Designing and developing new audio tools, workflows and system level features
  • Working closely with sound designers to support the implementation and optimisation of audio across the game
  • Profiling and optimising code to ensure performance and memory requirements are balanced

What we would like to see

  • Professional experience working with 3D audio development and tooling
  • Deep technical experience and competence working with C++
  • Good knowledge of audio specific languages and tools including Wwise, FMod and other audio middleware.
  • Prior experience working with game engines
  • You have a collaborative spirit and work to solve problems as a member of the wider production team

    It is a plus for us if you have a background or interest in making music/audio as an artist, technician or producer.

    Playdead is an independent game developer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. We are the creators and publishers of LIMBO and INSIDE. Our current project is a 3rd person, open world, science fiction adventure built for multiple platforms on Unreal Engine, published by Epic Games Publishing.

    Our legacy and ambition is to make games with an uncompromising attention to detail. Our approach to development is experimental, iterative and collaborative. We are particularly interested in friendly, talented people who feel confident taking charge of their own schedule.
